Senior Treasury Analyst The George Mason University Fiscal Services, Treasury Office invites applicants for the position of Senior Treasury Analyst. Fiscal Services provides accurate and timely financial data to ensure comprehensive reporting, compliance, and analysis to enable strategic decision-making. The newly created Treasury Office is responsible for providing cash management, debt management, and investment management for the University. Treasury also provides banking services to internal parties by providing loans, offering investment options, and managing cash flow in aggregate for the University.About the Position: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President & Treasurer, the Sr. Treasury Analyst will assist with day-to-day operational Treasury requirements, including cash and investment management, cash flow forecasting, banking administration, and debt management. In addition, they will assist in developing and monitoring processes and policies owned by Treasury and Fiscal Services team. The Sr. Analyst will participate in internal and external meetings and presentations, as well as collaborate across the University with departments such as Accounting, Budget, and Facilities. Externally, the position will have exposure to commercial banks, investment bankers, financial advisors, and GMU-related Foundations.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, management, or finance or equivalent combination of education and experience;Advanced skills in MS Excel, including mastery of formulas, functions, macros, pivot tables, and other features for handling complex tasks and data analytics. Advanced skills in MS Word & PowerPoint are also preferred; andExceptional written and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Relevant Investment / Financial Professional designations/certifications (e.g., CTP, CFA,);Experience in higher education, banking, consulting, or other large, complex environments with multiple revenue streams (including state support);Experience with Banner accounting systems;Superior analytical ability, including experience with advanced financial models, not limited to analysis of operating cash flow, investment alternatives & performance, and cost/benefit of funding alternatives. Proven ability to analyze complex financial information, develop conclusions and make recommendations;Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain "hands-on" management of processes, procedures, and related policies for treasury services. Knowledge of and ability to keep abreast of changes, technology advances, and state and federal regulations and legislation that impact treasury management. Experience with developing proforma financial information, investment performance summaries, and Board level presentations and reports; andDemonstrated ability to build, maintain, and grow a variety of cooperative and collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and represent the University with external parties, including the Virginia state government, in a professional and ethical manner.
