Program AssistantThe George Mason University, College of Education and Human Development, Education Leadership Program seeks a proactive and efficient Program Assistant to support the administrative and outreach functions of this dynamic academic program.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages applicants who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Provide financial, administrative, fiscal, and purchasing support for the division;Serve as the point-of-contact for the division and academic programs, including responding to emails, answering telephone inquiries, and assisting in-person visitors;Manage day-to-day operations of the division and programs;Provide outreach and student services, including engaging with prospective and current students;Contribute to student recruitment and stakeholder outreach efforts, including creating and disseminating information;Arrange, coordinate, and participate in information sessions and orientations;Coordinate, review, and track admissions applications and processes;Manage contract cohort admissions, scheduling, and registration;Organize, process, monitor, and retain student forms and paperwork;Provide academic program support, including support with accreditation and program review, course enrollment monitoring, course scheduling, course syllabi preparation, and desk copy and textbook orders;Perform hiring duties, including initiating electronic hiring processes, assisting with onboarding, generating contracts, and approving time sheets;Coordinate academic program events, including scheduling, marketing, invitations, catering, and technology;Perform administrative duties, such as purchasing, reconciling purchase card transactions, travel coordination and processing, and records management and retention;Assist faculty and staff with projects, activities, and initiatives; andSupervise work study students.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;Demonstrated experience providing administrative, academic, and student services for academic programs;Demonstrated experience performing office functions such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and greeting and assisting visitors;Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets;Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel);The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a flexible and professional manner;Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills;Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving skills;Demonstrated organizational and time management skills and a strong ability to multitask and prioritize; andDemonstrated verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
