Job Description

Zeus is a fast-growing component of the Washington Post that is helping publishers optimize their digital advertising and level the playing field as they compete for ad dollars with digital native social and search giants.

With an initial launch in late 2021, Zeus Prime is our newest product. Zeus Prime is a self-service tool that allows advertisers to place targeted ads across our network of publisher websites without relying on third-party cookies-ensuring their ads appear alongside real content from trusted sources. With our easy-to-use tool, ad campaigns can be live within 24 hours.

The Zeus Prime Growth Director is responsible for identifying and developing sales and marketing channels to drive revenue for our Zeus Prime network of publishers. You'll work directly with the Washington Post advertising sales team, our publisher partners and our marketing team to bring more advertisers into the platform and turn them into repeat buyers. You'll also develop partnerships to create affiliate relationships with established advertiser media buying resources. You'll also collaborate with our product and marketing teams to build collateral and in-market messaging to support growth of Zeus Prime.

Zeus is a new business that is growing quickly, so you must be able to drive growth in addition to building processes and procedures to help our organization scale. While not purely a sales or marketing role, you'll work closely with sales and marketing teams so experience or familiarity with those duties is helpful.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the growth of the Zeus Technology business as it grows and scales.
  • Serve as the lead for business performance of our Prime programs, presenting monthly and quarterly business reviews with senior leadership.
  • Build programs, partnerships and campaigns to help acquire and activate net new users, retain and convert successful users and understand, try, and adopt our offerings.
  • Create, execute, and analyze marketing programs to activate, engage, convert and retain multiple customer segments.
  • Work with Product Marketing, Design, Sales and Dev to continuously optimize our acquisition, activation and retention funnel and product onboarding through rigorous experimentation, with the goal of growing conversion efficiency.
  • Build systems for forecasting, measuring, and reporting on the performance of campaigns and business, using data and analytics to assess against our critical metrics like Sign ups, Retention, ARR, and top of funnel.
  • Work with operations, sales, and marketing teams to ensure we're generating the right type of demand and determine business process implications as needed. Build processes and frameworks that will scale with a growing organization.
  • Create retargeting campaigns and drive segmentation analysis for personalized journey conversion journeys across multiple cohorts of users, owning channels including Email, Web, and Paid.
  • Lead development of in-market messaging and sales collateral for Zeus Prime.
  • Work closely with the Washington Post advertising sales team and build relationships with our publisher partners to support their use of Zeus products to drive revenue.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum experience 10 years in advertising sales, business development
  • Proven experience building and measuring revenue channels
  • Proven ability interacting with customers and all organizational levels and leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong organizational, creative problem-solving, and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic group environment and under deadline pressures
  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
