Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 8-12 water resources and coastal engineers
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching interns and engineers
- Oversee the skill development and career advancement of staff
- Monitor progress against project scope, schedule, budget, and quality; allocate resources as required to meet milestones
- Perform, review, manage, and oversee a variety of fluvial, pluvial and coastal hazard and risk analysis
- Training, coaching, and mentoring junior staff
- Developing innovative and technical solutions for successful delivery of engineering projects
- Providing support in water resources and resiliency aspects of multi-disciplinary projects for integrated water resources and watershed master planning
- Writing and reviewing technical reports and communicating results to clients
- Contribute to business development, proposal writing and growing the coastal and riverine engineering practice
Required Skills & Required Experience
Required Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- 5 - 10 years of experience in H&H analysis and modeling
- Experience with FEMA's Risk MAP, and the National Flood Insurance Program
- Experience in 1D and 2D, steady and unsteady H&H modeling
- Proficient in GIS, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS.
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience in mentoring junior engineering staff
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in SWMM, PCSWMM, or XP-SWMM
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Masters or Ph.D. in water resources engineering
- Experience in modeling levee/dam failure analysis
- Experience in resilience analysis, sustainability and green infrastructure
- Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
- Experience in water quality modeling
- Experience in storm water management design
- Experience in business development and proposal writing
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
