Mathy House Coordinator, Office of the PresidentThe Office of the President invites applicants with experience in events, house management and administrative engagement to submit their application for the position of Mathy House Coordinator. The successful candidate will perform with independence, initiative, and attention to detail, exhibiting high energy and a collaborative spirit. Professionally represent the President, Presidential Partner and the President's Office providing outstanding customer service to Mason constituents, campus visitors and high-level dignitaries. Confidentiality and awareness of and sensitivity to Virginia and university conflict of interest rules is essential.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The position will support the day-to-day operations of the Mathy House, the home of the president and family, and be an integral participant and coordinator for all Mathy House events, manage daily operations and Mason-related administrative assignments. The successful candidate will also participate in various Office of the President projects and initiatives during times when hosting events is less frequent.The position is responsible for ensuring all operational components are fully functional with the president's home. This oversight includes coordinating with members of the George Mason University Facilities team and/or external contractors, reporting and requesting repairs/maintenance, tracking the same and ensuring that all work is accomplished timely. Continued monitoring of the home is necessary in order to address issues quickly, along with confirming contracted housekeeping requirements are met and exceeded.The selected candidate will coordinate with the Mathy House residents and collaborate with the President's Office, University Events, Catering and other campus entities to organize all details for events hosted by the president at the Mathy House. Availability to assist with coordination and staff each event along with accepting deliveries and providing access to the house as needed are also key components and requirements of the position.Provide efficient administrative support to the presidential partner for Mason-related activities. This involvement includes detailed scheduling, obtaining necessary reference information, and familiarization with overall Mason engagement and advisory boards. Collaboration with the Presidential Scheduler is necessary to ensure relevant calendar details for all activities and Mason-related engagement and travel is planned efficiently and effectively.Selected candidate will also participate in annual events and projects coordinated by the President's Office team, along with generating documentation for Mathy House events and operational procedures during times of minimal Mathy House events and obligations.Required Qualifications:Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills; effective communicator using tact, diplomacy and confidentiality; andExperience in a variety of areas to include house management, facilities/contractor coordination, event planning and a strong administrative skill set.Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated prior experience within higher education/universities/colleges, corporate, government or civic settings. Strong working knowledge of university procedures, programs and policies is beneficial.
