Job Description

The Washington Post is hiring a Systems Administrator, SaaS & Third-Party Applications to join our Platform and Application Management team to focus primarily on application management and support. Your eagerness to learn and strong organizational skills will position you for success managing a diverse portfolio. In this role you will help maintain systems such as ServiceNow, GitHub, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence/Opsgenie) and other SaaS solutions. Internal job title is Systems Administrator.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, maintain, and administer a variety of industry-leading SaaS applications and systems.
  • Provide identification, diagnosis, and resolution of incidents and problems. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Manage provisioning and software licensing.
  • Develop and maintain efficient/automated client system support.
  • Collect and analyze data to report on the health of systems.
  • Stay current with industry standards and emerging technologies
  • Creates process improvements for workflows - discovery, planning, and execution with emphasis on automation.
  • Record requests, issues, and solutions using service ticketing software. Keep all tickets and projects updated.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems.


Qualifications
  • Strong automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, JavaScript, etc.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Experience in tools administration, DevOps, infrastructure support with a desire to provide technical support leadership on a wide variety of industry-leading tools.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • 5+ years supporting multiple applications as an administrator
  • Bonus points for experience administering ServiceNow
