Application AnalystGeorge Mason University Information Technology Services (ITS), located on the Fairfax, Va. campus, is seeking a service-orientated, self-starter to apply for an Application Analyst position within the Database, Middleware and ERP Support team. This is a full-time classified staff position with benefits. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (a few days in the office with the remaining days teleworking). George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Application Analyst will be responsible for serving as a subject matter expert, configuring applications and troubleshooting issues on Ellucian Banner ERP system applications especially in the area of Ethos Integration and Document Management and Retention. He/she must have strong communication skills to be able to work with both technical and nontechnical staff and vendor support to ensure successful implementation, configuration, administration and maintenance of assigned applications. Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting performance and data integrity issues are a must.Required Qualifications:Experience with APIs, JSON and API related tools such as Postman and Insomnia;Experience with deployment and troubleshooting applications in a WebLogic or Tomcat environment;Experience with Oracle RDBMS as either a DBA or PL/SQL developer;Experience with shell scripting in a Unix environment;Experience with writing SQL queries;Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to deliver outstanding customer service, effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels and vendor support, as well as work collaboratively within a team environment;Demonstrated problem-solving analytical skills, with demonstrate knowledge of workflow and process requirements of complex application systems;Demonstrated technical proficiency with the ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining and administering multiple complex applications; andProven ability to learn new content areas and new skills quickly and adapt to new software environments with and without formal training.Preferred Qualifications:Experience upgrading and administrating the Ellucian Banner ERP application;Experience administrating and supporting Banner Suite applications;BS or higher degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent combination of educational and work experience; and4 or more years' demonstrated experience in applications administration.Salary is commensurate with education and experience.George Mason University is a great place to work where employees are given an opportunity to develop skills and expand horizons.
