The MIL Corporation is seeking a Security Engineering, Associate to serve as a Cyber Planning and Response Center Operations Lead for assigned projects at Patuxent River, Maryland. This position will assist in leading the CPRC operations for the Government customer.
Responsibilities
- This position requires the person to independently apply knowledge of cyber security and incident response to information management systems and hardware and software systems; Has responsibility for developing project plans, guidelines, and controls; May act as team or project leader, supervising and advising with respect to the work of other specialists, scientists, or technicians.
- Interacts with senior personnel on significant matters including cyber incident response and planning support for digital forensics examinations, digital media recovery, classified spillage investigations, breach and ex-filtration, media sanitation, malware analysis, and supply chain risk management (SCRM) which often requires coordination between organizations.
- Self-coordinates assignments, determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Decisions and recommendations must typically meet critical CPRC organizational objectives and positively affect organizational performance.
- Prepare and maintain formal materials to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Work Packages (SWP), Incident Response Plans, presentations, future road mapping concepts, research, and portions of technical documents such as specifications, and technical requirements.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum eight (8) years' professional experience, with at least 3-years' experience performing the foregoing functions which include cyber incident response, forensics, and applying systems security is required.
- Must have experience with various operating systems to include Kali Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows (98, XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10).
- Excellent communication (both written and oral), analytical, and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer focus.
- Cybersecurity workforce certification to include CompTIA Security+ CE (SEC+) and EC-Council Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience conducting Cyber Incident Response in a DoD environment is highly desirable.
- EC-Council Certified Incident Handler (E|CIH), GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), CyberSec First Responder (CFR), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) and Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) certifications are highly desirable.
- Experience relating to Naval aviation and weapons systems is a major plus, though not a requirement.
- This position will require working in classified spaces.
- Per federal guidelines, you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination.
Education
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering from an accredited college or university.
