MCO - Technology Services is dedicated to ensuring continuous enhancement of services, compliance, and productivity to departments' core business practices.About the Position:The Technical Service Assistant provides excellent customer service to ensure that all requests are handled quickly and effectively. Deploys and maintains hardware and software on endpoint devices (registers, kiosks, credit card readers). Troubleshoots network and hardware related issues. Leads student workers on hardware installations and repairs. Assists the Technology Manager in supporting the environment and customers. Assists in the system administrator role, ensuring that all requests are handled in a timely manner. Works with vendors to ensure that all systems are operational. And, ensures that all operations are compliant with George Mason Policy as well as industry best practices (PCI specifically).Responsibilities:Ensure the proper day-to-day operation of technology applications and equipment, including responding to trouble tickets, performing maintenance on applications, troubleshooting processes, and assisting Technical Manager;User/role management of applications;Assist in support of server maintenance and testing;Provides technical assistance to end users by answering questions and troubleshooting issues while maintaining a professional manner;Assist Technical Manager in ensuring that a high level of customer satisfaction is achieved;Assist users in support of applications and troubleshooting devices in field;Install, test, monitor, upgrade, troubleshoot and repairs computer systems, networks, and peripherals. Ensuring high uptimes and quick turnarounds; andManage user account information, including rights, security and system groups.Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in IT preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Knowledge of PCI polices;Knowledge of Mobile device management software;Knowledge of GAAP, specifically in payment reconciliation;Ability to troubleshoot networks;Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs and utilities associated with troubleshooting;Demonstrated experience with installation and repair of PCs; andExperience with managing large and complex projects involving multiple departments.
