Along with the robust investment and record-breaking growth in digital revenue, traffic and subscriptions comes the responsibility of providing complete and accurate financial information to enable the company's leaders to make informed strategic decisions. We are looking for a Manager, Financial Accounting to lead our Financial Accounting team with focus on accounting for fixed assets, capital expenditures, information technology engineering expenses and other month-end and year-end close procedures. Adaptability to ever changing business priorities with an understanding of how various puzzle pieces fit into the big picture is crucial to this role.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of general ledger and account reconciliation experience and will be a dynamic and self-motivated lead of the team interested in working with a forward-looking financial accounting and reporting group. You will be charged with using your technical accounting knowledge combined with comprehensive judgment to record, reconcile, and report results.

  • The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for delegating, supervising, and participating in accounting department tasks, oversee the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information, hire, train, and motivate accounting staff members, develop and implement department controls and procedures, and ensure that the department operates efficiently without sacrificing accuracy
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department which includes, but isn't limited to payroll, taxes, leases, inventory, accruals, prepaids and treasury
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, supports the month-end close process, and oversees the production and delivery of timely and accurate financial reports or statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles, and internal controls
  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget and interim forecasts, including supporting schedules
  • Manage the accounting of Company's lease portfolio under ASC 842 Leases
  • Prepare and/or review monthly variance analyses for direct costs and SG&A to include summary narratives
  • Analyze financial data and creates reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as auditors, vendors or regulatory agencies
  • Review and approve applicable journal entries including expense accruals, correcting and adjusting entries, recurring entry requests, amortization schedules, and allocations
  • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations
  • Work with the entire finance team to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at in interim and at year-end
  • Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business
  • Assist in the transformation of accounting processes using Robotic Process Automation or various other tools to increase efficiency
  • May prepare ad hoc financial analyses as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller

  • Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 8+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • A demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial concepts
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are required
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Blackline and Bloomberg Tax & Accounting software is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated initiative in research and follow-through
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports
