About the Program: George Mason University is the largest, most diverse public research university in Virginia. The Clinical Psychology Program is committed to training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to meet the evolving roles of clinical psychologists in an evidence-based and antiracist framework. Detailed information about the program, including its mission statement, can be found at https://clinical.gmu.edu/. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented minority groups to apply.Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral Fellow will gain experience providing primary care behavioral health services half time at two of our partner pediatrician practices throughout the year. In addition, the Fellow will spend the other half of the week working at the GMU Center for Psychological Services providing evidence based testing and therapy services to children and adolescents (depending on preference). The Fellow will complete two comprehensive assessments per month, with a child focus, and see approximately 4 child therapy clients per week. This is a great opportunity to gain hours for licensure and hone both primary care and specialty care skills. Supervision will be provided by three supervisors, one for primary care behavioral health, one for testing at the Center and one for therapy at the Center. Other opportunities for gaining experience in supervision or specialty areas are optional.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program by the start date of the position; completion of an APA-accredited predoctoral internship; and prior experience with both therapy and testing of children. The search committee will begin reviewing applications April 5, 2022 and continue until the position is filled.
