Event Technician - Event Services - Production The George Mason University Student Centers invites applications for an Event Technician to support the execution of its event production services. Responsibilities:The Event Technician is responsible for providing technical and operational support for events on the Fairfax campus. This position works with students, faculty, staff and the community at-large to ensure the delivery of event production services. In addition, candidates may assist with issues related to operations and room setup configurations for events. The successful candidate is expected to work some evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Event Production Supervisor.Specific Duties:Provide technical support and deliver equipment for events where production services have been contracted;Provide operational support for event spaces when needed;Ensure proper configuration, setup, operation, monitoring and breakdown of event services equipment; and other university equipment, including in house audio/visual systems;Assist in executing overall event logistics in coordination with other university partners, such as University Events, Catering, Facilities, and others;Report any equipment issues encountered during shifts and associated activities;Serve as on-site manager for events when determined to require such presence by the Event Production Supervisor; andOn occasion, the candidate may need to support event production execution on other campuses or off-campus locations as determined by the supervisor.Required Qualifications:Basic knowledge and experience in technical production and event support;Ability to lift and transport 25 - 50 lbs. unassisted multiple times per shift;Understanding of event management common practices; andDemonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide excellent customer service.
