Admissions CounselorThe Graduate Office of Admissions and Recruitment in the School of Business at George Mason University invites applications for the position of Admissions Counselor. This is a full-time classified staff position with benefits.This position could potentially be setup with a hybrid work schedule (a few days in the office with the remaining days teleworking) or a 100% remote work schedule from a remote location inside or outside of the local Northern Virginia area (with some limited campus visits).George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:The Admissions Counselor has responsibilities in the following areas:One-On-One (Individual) Candidate RecruitmentParticipation in proactive communication strategies and tactics for individual recruitment, including, but not limited to, phone outreach, texting, and in-person, virtual, and/or phone admissions consultations with prospective graduate students; andExecuting a pre-determined number of Admissions consultations, which are available to prospective students via an online scheduling tool and additional methods of communication.Group Candidate RecruitmentSupporting the School of Business Graduate Office of Admissions and Recruitment in the planning and execution of recruitment outreach and programming as needed, including participation in in-person and virtual events, large scale recruitment events, and graduate recruitment travel throughout the region and Commonwealth when necessary.Collaboration and Program KnowledgeMaintaining awareness of new courses, programs, and services offered by the School of Business and the University at large; andServing as recruiting lead for new programs, pending their approval and implementation.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Excellent attention to detail with strong ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment; andDemonstrated interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities;Ability to interact well and relate well to people including having a strong customer service orientation;Expertise and experience working with graduate-level students and online programs;Familiarity with a university environment including an understanding of the organizational and governance structure of major colleges and universities;Understanding of the mission of George Mason University;Demonstrated ability to serve as part of a team and develop productive working relationships with multiple constituencies (i.e., student, faculty, staff, and alumni); andExperience with the Salesforce customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
