Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions The George Mason University, Office of Admissions invites applications for a reliable, self-motivated, results-oriented Graduate Admissions Assistant Director. Responsibilities:Review processed applications for accuracy and to ensure documents comply with University policies and research applications for missing documentation;Process graduate admissions applications for Virginia In-State tuition using Banner and other systems as needed according to processing guidelines outlined by administration and the State Code of Virginia (§ 23-7.4);Serve as graduate admissions point of contact for the Wiley partnership;Act as liaison to many GMU offices including, but not limited to: Registrar, Student Accounts, Provost's Office, Domicile Office and Office of International;Collect, organize, and maintain data for Wiley applicants, Office of Graduate admissions correspondences, graduate program deadlines and requirements, and respond to data requests on domicile eligibility from graduate units; Create, review, and sustain data for semester Official Transcript Audit;Stay up to date on all new University level admissions initiatives and processes;Serve as a lead specialist and act as supervisor to Graduate Admissions Coordinator and/or student-wage and non-student wage;Train new full-time, student-wage, and non-student wage employees;Oversee all contact with applicants on a regular basis via multiple communication channels, including phone, e-mail, and in-person interactions, regarding their applications;Create and maintain training documentation for programs, welcome desk, emails, phone calls, or walk ins as it pertains to graduate admissions;Represent Mason and knowledgeably discuss graduate programs at all admission fairs, workshops, career fairs and special events;Answer extensive questions regarding graduate admissions requirements through phone, e-mail, and in-person interactions; andParticipate in various new student orientations and Graduate Showcase.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, process- and deadline-driven environment where prioritization of multilevel tasks are necessary daily;Able to learn office/university procedures quickly with the ability to occasionally use learned procedures to help teach and train wage, student and other full-time staff members;Proven organizational and analytical skills with strong process-oriented thinking;Demonstrated customer service skills;General knowledge of office workflow and project management procedures;Function well in high-volume environment with minimum supervision;Willingness to learn Graduate Admissions policies and procedures;Able to work occasional events that fall outside of normal operating hours, including nights and weekends as assigned;Experience working in a university environment, customer service or administrative position; andDemonstrated communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Ellucian Banner administrative system;Basic knowledge of CRM software;Previous experience working with international educational documentation or internationally educated students;Previous admissions experience;Bilingual; andWorking knowledge of the process for application for in-state tuition eligibility pursuant to the Code of Virginia.
