We're searching for a talented Client Manager to join The Washington Post's Client Solutions Team. In this position, you'll be responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support through planning, data analysis and active account management. You'll strive to increase the selling time for our Enterprise Client Partners. You'll spend every day in a fast-paced effort to maximize the revenue potential of some of the largest regional advertisers. You'll analyze our clients' marketing needs and recommend the advertising solutions that will keep them committed. And you'll play an integral role in driving the revenue that supports one of the world's most trusted and respected news sources.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Client Partners to efficiently and effectively complete pre- and post-sales activity.
  • Work with Enterprise Client Partners and advertisers to develop optimal solutions that retain and grow revenue.
  • Follow a defined sales process and use appropriate interpersonal communication methods to gain acceptance of a product, service or idea from prospects and clients.
  • Develop strong relationships with both clients and their agencies.
  • Analyze clients' and prospects' advertising and marketing needs and consultatively recommend appropriate advertising solutions.
  • Seek out opportunities to drive incremental sales while managing existing business.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Maintain complete records on active and historic advertiser activity using salesforce.com.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends as they pertain to your accounts.


Qualifications
  • Ability to successfully make sales presentations and close sales in person and over the phone to existing/prospective clients
  • Excellent skills in organization, time management and follow-through
  • Ability to effectively manage/service approximately 100 existing accounts
  • Ability to ensure high quality-control when ordering ads in our system
  • Ability to make cold calls over the phone and build new client relationships
  • Prospect and meet with clients in territory and over the phone
  • Manage all activities with Customer Service including accounting, contracts, applications, and ad creation and execution
  • Superior skills in verbal/written communication and customer service
  • Experience with telephone prospecting sales
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to sell and effectively close sales
  • Experience working in a sales-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to communicate in a creative, persuasive style
  • Ability to handle stress in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work toward/beyond sales goals and exceed past performance
  • Experience using salesforce.com (desired)
