Hiring For Yard Laborer
Equivalent ExperienceDescription:It is a company in Elkridge, MD that ships and receives scaffolds. They are seeking yard laborers to add to their team. These laborers will be conducting inventory, shipping & receiving and lifting materials. The work that is done is both indoor and outdoor, so candidates need to be comfortable with hot weather, cold weather and rainy weather. They will be responsible for unloading the trucks. Once they unload each crate they will have to open them and count each item that is in them. They will sometimes be working in teams of two and lifting pieces of the scaffolds, looking for damages, spraying where they seeing them, and putting them in a correct pile. Paying attention is important because if a piece is damaged it needs to be fixed.The candidates should have basic warehouse , construction experience, or experience with hand tools.They have a large yard with scaffolds and other equipment that they distribute to their customers worldwide. After their customer is finished with the equipment they ship it back to Sunbelt and they repair the equipment for damages and store the equipment.Ideally he is looking for someone that:1) Jumps in and asks to help if they are slow.2) If the orders are there 4-7 a day, they are hustling.3) Team player - always looking for more to do.4) Wants to learn - pulling sections of orders, learns materials, continues to learn more pieces of materials.Shifts:In training they will work 8:30-5PM (2 week training)Shift: 8:30-5PM (this is typically 8 hours a day and some weekends as needed)Skills:yard worker, Yard laborer, Hand Tools, Unloading Trucks, Heavy Lifting, countingTop Skills Details:yard workerAdditional Skills & Qualifications:1) 6+ months of a job in a manual labor or construction environment.
