Core ResponsibilitiesAs an entry level performance engineer, you will Run test cells, make sure the data is good quality & troubleshoot issues.Analyze engine data & make adjustments to various performance parameters, ie fueling, EGR Flow, air flow, etc, in order to minimize emissions & maximize fuel economy & performanceAnalyze data & make adjustments to on-board diagnostics (OBD) monitorsHook-up & operate data acquisition equipment in vehicles to trouble shoot engine problems and also to get additional data to help with performance calibrationWork with simulations group to train & develop engine models & run simulations to help optimize engine calibrationsMake recommendations regarding hardware changes & test various features to verify if there is a performance advantageCompetenciesMethodical: Able to pay attention to changes in engine performance & data & determine correct course of action.Analytical: Knows or is capable of learning various data analysis tools to aid in testing & calibration decisions.Adaptive: Able to react & learn quickly when facing new challenges and situations.Collaborative: Cooperates with others across the organization to achieve shared objectivesProgramming ((Python, Matlab, Simulink, C++, etc.) a plusRequirements and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required0-6 years experience developing diesel powertrain systemsStrong communication skillsAction oriented with ability to work independently with minimal supervisionMotivated to solve problems and develop quality solutions in a timely mannerAbility to successfully collaborate with global and cross-functional colleaguesInnovative mindset with customer focusAuthorized to work in the United States requiredSalary Range: $62,000-70,000
