Are you?The Pipeline Simulation Group within AVEVA's Engineering practice is responsible for the worldwide delivery and support of pipeline simulation technology. The primary application product is used to model oil & gas pipeline hydraulic and control behavior.This position is responsible to deliver simulation solutions to our pipeline customers in the Oil & Gas industry. The engineer will work as part of larger project teams and complete assignments to deliver the final solution to meet the needs of the customer. This work will include design documentation, implementation, testing, customer training and site commissioning. As a senior member of the project delivery group, this position will also oversee other engineers on the assigned project teams and provide mentoring for junior staff.Senior Simulation EngineerLocation: Owings Mills, Maryland or RemoteResponsibilities:* Design, configuration, and implementation of pipeline simulation solutions using AVEVA's SimSuite Pipeline modeling application.* Provide technical leadership in project implementation and delivery to customers.* Work directly with customers to understand customer's needs and requirements.* Contribute to the standardization of project implementation methods and solutions.* Development of project documentation including the Functional Design Specification, Acceptance Test Procedures, and custom user documentation.* Assist with the development of junior engineering staff by mentoring and providing expertise on current projects.* Participate in the direct sales and promotion of Simulation applications through product demonstrations and proposal preparation.* Travel to client sites will be required (approximately 25%).* While assistance and training will be available, it is expected that all duties of this position will be performed under minimal direct supervision after initial training period.Skills & Qualifications:* Background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, hydraulic behavior.* Knowledge of model simulation.Education & Previous Experience:* A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Petroleum Engineering.* 5+ years of experience in software application deployment, development or service, preferably in the Oil or Gas Pipeline Simulation industry.* 5+ years of general experience in Oil and Gas pipeline transportation or related industry.* Consideration may be given to someone with less years of experience for a position of Simulation Engineer.Non-Technical Skills & Experience Required:* Leadership, planning, decision making, problem solving, business communications, customer relationships, teamwork, quality assurance, interpersonal communications.* Negotiation skills, influence management.* Proven written and verbal communication skills in English.Additional Identified Beneficial Skills:* C++ and/or Fortran or other coding experience is beneficial.AVEVA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we take pride in the diversity of our employees, valuing the special experience and expertise that people from different backgrounds bring to our business.
