Detrick, MDPls. apply online at: 3rd shift (0000-0800) Active DoD Secret security clearance is required FLSA Classification: Exempt - SalariedEmployment Class: Full Time RegularPosition Summary: 1 Prospect Technologies is actively seeking a qualified Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Operator who is familiar with Data Center Operations in support of a complex web server environment, providing support for Tape COOP management and monitoring of the Data Centers environmental systems. Will perform troubleshooting of operational issues, escalation and coordination of operational activities will be required. The Senior NOC Operator shall perform limited resolution per guidelines; coordinate support as needed in support of operational guidelines prescribed by the Fort Detrick Network Enterprise Center (NEC) Operations Center management.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs power up/down procedures for various platforms and devices located in the data center.Provides operational support for server class platforms.Monitors Windows and Linux servers following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Executes backups on all assigned systems at specified times. Inserts/removes backup tapes for DMLSS systems and cleans drives.Assists in Property Management and working with Government staff to prepare equipment for pickup.Provides after hours help desk functions for Fort Detrick NEC and must have the ability to log problems via telephone, e-mail or web and attempt to resolve or elevate to appropriate SME.Have good communications skills; and the ability to work independently and with more than one team.Coordinates pickup and delivery of media stored offsite through offsite storage vendor utilizing related software.Performs notification of personnel on arrival of off- site monthly media - track response, return and documentation to facilitate media return to off-site storageParticipates in Data Center expansion, growth, and reconfiguration projects.Updates all documentation, databases, SOPs for all functions performed and systems affected- including VISIO, SharePoint, PRTG, Remedy, Ops logs, SOPs, maintenance logs, event logs, and activities logsMonitors and provides access to Data Center using standard operating proceduresPerforms after hours security monitoringVerifies DIS has performed monthly UPS/Chiller/Diesel TestsInteracts with NEC staff and assists in resolving issuesAssists with network server administration functionsPhysically verify rack configurations (locations, contents, identification) and update as needed rack elevation diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar softwarePerforms Common Access Card (CAC) resetsPerforms IAVA patching and computer imagingOther duties as assignedEducation & Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalentOne to two (1-2) years of IT or relevant experienceActive DoD Secret Security Clearance requiredCompTIA Security+ certification requiredExperience with BMC Remedy 8.1 or similar help desk tracking tools.Knowledge of Army IT regulations and security procedures.Proven customer service skills.Ability to apply systematic/systems analysis processes and procedures to troubleshooting diagnostics.Advanced diagnostic skills and tools knowledge.Experience with Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel, and Word.Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.Knowledge of Army IT regulations and security procedures.Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands: Works under general supervision and reports to the team or site leadMust be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five (25) poundsThis position is for the 3rd shift (0000-0800).
