Hotel General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of hotel operations including guest & associate satisfaction, financial performance, sales & revenue generation. Candidate will be responsible for the following:Guest Service:Maintains guest services as the driving philosophy of the hotelHandle any guest problem or complaint in a professional and courteous mannerPersonally demonstrates a commitment to guest service by responding to guests needsIs committed to making every guest completely satisfied with their stayEnsures all staff is trained on how to interact with the guests and the procedures on a guest complaint. Empowers hotel staff to deliver guest service by encouraging and motivating responsive guest assistanceMarketing and Sales Management:Works to develops and implements a sales plan based on the demand of the property in order to obtain new business Works with Director of Sales to ensure preparations for groups and corporate clients have been made.Profit Management:Helps maintain a conservative budget in order to maximize profit marginIdentifies potential revenue and expense opportunities and possible problemsEnsures hotel staff is trained in financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories and receivables, and that these procedures are regularly followedUtilize budgets and understands financial objectives while balancing costs with guest satisfaction & qualityHuman Resource Management:Manages human resources functions including recruiting, selection, orientation, and trainingMaintains a positive cooperative work environment between staff and managementEnsures hotel employees know hotel objectives of the propertyAdministers personnel policies fairly and consistentlyEnsures personnel files are accurate and comply with both local and federal laws and regulations Resolve employee grievances in a fair and timely mannerEnsure employees understand policies, pay procedures, and benefitsEnsures training objectives and development plans are completedMonitors and maintains acceptable turnover levelsDevelop cross training opportunities for the Associates throughout the hotelRecommend & initiate personnel actions to include promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplineInput payroll into the company timekeeping system and comply with all Payroll Department deadlines Create staff schedules for all departmentsEnsure there is adequate coverage across all departments and amount spent on payroll must stay within budget.Must understand and plan in advance to stay within allowed budgetAsset Management:Maintains physical product standards by managing preventative maintenance programs and by scheduling deep-clean activitiesEnsures ongoing staff and employee involvement in preventative maintenance programsProtects the interest of the hotel during capital projectsHas outstanding property Quality EvaluationsInspects hotel rooms, building exterior, parking lotComply with all brand standardsSafety and Security Management:Knows local health and safety codes and regulations that apply to the hotelRecognizes and corrects potential safety hazardsUnderstands and follows policies and procedures for the hotel's key control system and ensures others are trained Uses ongoing safety training to minimize injuriesComply and adhere to all company policies and proceduresJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:Employee discountHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayOn callWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payAbility to commute/relocate:Fredericksburg, VA 22407: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Hotel management: 1 year (Preferred)Hospitality: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
