Grill Cook/Line CookDEPARTMENT: Culinary DepartmentREPORTS TO: Restaurant Sous Chef /Exec Sous Chef and Executive ChefSUPERVISES: NoneSTATUS: Full Time/Non-ExemptPOSITION SUMMARY: Cook, produce and prepare food for the AM or PM.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a professional and clean culinary work areaKeep all refrigerators clean with food stock rotation and labeled at all timesFollow Culinary Department recipe format and production listFollow all Chef and Sous Chef described job requirementsWork with hand gloves and with sanitizer at all work and production areasClean and sanitize all working cutting and prepping surfacesKeep a reasonable par stock for Line cook and advise management or sous chef / chef of any missing items, or short of productsUse kitchen trash and glass, cardboard recyclables as neededLeave all work areas better then you have found them, advise Chef or Sous Chefs if problem from previous shift occursPrep, produce and cook to all standards as per Culinary Dept. guidelinesOrganize all refrigerator load-in per Sous Chef / Chef's InstructionsAdhere and follow all opening and closing lists of the station where you are workingNo recipe or food substitutes unless approved by Chef or Sous ChefsAssist Chefs with prepping, organizing, washing, and small peeling and cleaning of product jobsAny other duties as assigned per Chef or Sous ChefsREQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Able to communicate or understand jobs and commands in English language.Able to read labels and understand material training guidelines.Bilingual in Spanish a plus.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT/ENVIRONMENT: Able lift 50 lbAble to stand long periodsAble to move fast and understand the job descriptions as instructedAble to work weekends and night or late-night shiftsAble to work on HolidaysDRESS REQUIREMENTS: Chef's Uniform (follow safety guidelines)Closed Toe shoes and anti slip solesNo ClogsJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid sick timePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:BarCasual dining restaurantFine dining restaurantUpscale casual restaurantSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftHolidaysNight shiftWeekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:We follow all CDC, State and Federal health and safety guidelinesEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Culinary: 1 year (Required)Shift availability:Day Shift (Preferred)Night Shift (Preferred)Work Location: One location
