Principal Communications Associate, EDML

The Enterprise. Data. Machine Learning. (EDML) Chief of Staff (COS) office is focused on supporting leaders who are responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining technologies across the company with a focus on Enterprise Data, Risk, HR, Corporate Solutions, Finance, and Machine Learning. The COS office is a centralized and multi-faceted team with dedicated work streams to drive our agenda which includes a centralized Communications & Culture Team.

The EDML COS Communications & Culture Team is seeking a Principal Communicator to partner with one of our Executive Leaders and their Chief of Staff to provide ongoing strategic communications support and execution.This role is for you if you are an experienced and versatile storyteller who is excited about driving a communications agenda and helping with the evolution of our team and organization.

As a Communicator on our team, you will produce a wide range of content, such as blog-style associate articles, executive communications, presentations and easily digestible "snackable" stories. You'll also produce and evolve a department-wide narrative that enables a cohesive story about the products and experiences we provide to the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in communication with 2-3 years of proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills, is passionate about technology with deep curiosity to learn about new technology, is an expert collaborator and relationship-builder, has engaging professional presence and strong project management skills (with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once). The candidate will also have a portfolio with at least 3-5 writing samples for internal review.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and execute on communication strategy and plans that support the team's vision, goals and objectives
  • Partner with leadership to develop thoughtful, creative technology communications
  • Drive the associate engagement strategy for department leadership, including departmental communications, associate engagement updates, offsites and town hall events
  • Build and execute thought leadership initiatives that elevate our technology experts on emerging technology trends and topics in key technology publications, channels and forums
  • Write and edit leader communications content
  • Develop a roster of speaking engagements and event opportunities to highlight department leaders
  • Assess risks, issues and potential communications problems, and provide proactive solutions


The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Proven track record for developing and implementing successful technical communication strategies and storytelling
  • Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present complex subject matter in a clear, concise and compelling manner
  • Proven ability to work effectively with multiple constituents, including peers and executive management
  • The ability to think outside the box to creatively integrate problem-solving and structured thinking
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, analytical talent and attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience managing communications
  • At least 3 years of experience creating presentations for leadership and non-leadership audiences


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • 2+ years of tech communications experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Intranet Solutions development
  • 2+ years of experience with Google suite
  • 2+ years of experience with Adobe
  • 3+ years of experience in Process management
  • 3+ years of experience in Project management
  • 2+ years of managing external communication of a company
