Duties

As a SUPERVISORY RECORDS & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, you will:
  • Advise senior OFAC managers and staff, keeping them informed on current and projected operational requirements, issues, legislative, and regulatory matters related to records management.
  • Analyze proposed or enacted records management legislation to evaluate the impact on program resources and operations.
  • Analyze records and information management requirements to develop reporting systems, including system specifications, data gathering and analytical techniques, and system evaluation methodology.
  • Design, develop, and coordinate approval of records management policy documents, procedural directives, and other guidance instruments for implementation throughout OFAC, and provide direction and assistance to OFAC business activities during their implementation.

    Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized Experience: For the GS-14 level is one year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:
    • Interpreting, implementing, and providing technical guidance and responses on Records and Information Management policies, regulations, and procedures; AND
    • Leading projects to improve compliance with Records and Information Management requirements; AND
    • Developing procedures to improve the administration of Records and Information Management program(s); AND
    • Researching and evaluating guidelines and regulations to make recommendations for changes to Records Management processes and procedures; AND
    • Providing input in developing procedures to improve the administration of Records and Information Management program(s);
    • Supervising the activities of other Records and Information Management specialists.

    Time in Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
    • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    • Top Secret/SCI - Background Investigation will be required.
    • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

The bureau human resources office will provide information on how to request a legally required exception from this requirement, if applicable.
