Duties

Major Duties include:
Program Development and Support:
Develops, coordinates, and implements a comprehensive outreach initiative designed to facilitate the delivery of services to Veterans, identify the needs and requirements of the Veteran population, services they are not able to access on their own, partners in the community who are willing to provide services or will jointly develop services
Data Management & Reporting:
Locates, organizes, develops, and reports on all data for performance measures and reports this data to social work leadership and to the Advance Care Planning Coordinator in completing required administrative tasks such as quarterly reports, performs basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports; coordinates incoming data from a variety of sources, reviews documents and reports for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate. Enters pertinent data into an automated tracking system and maintains program-specific data in automated systems
Administrative Support:
Performs telephone and walk-in triage and brief assessment, assists Veterans, families, medical center staff and community agency personnel who are seeking Social Work services and ACP-GV services, ensures timely response to team members that potentially have an emergent or urgent care need through prompt identification of the problem and appropriate team referral, applies advanced work processing software to materials involving complex formats such as automatic generation of indices and tables of contents, importation of graphics, charts, or special symbols or precise alignment of multiple columns, prepares files and charts in a timely manner, ensuring that all relevant correspondences and clinical material pertinent to social work and ACP-GV are in place.
Budget Management:
Responsible for assuring that various aspects of staffing, training, compliance, reporting, quality assurance, and budgetary initiatives are met, Track and report monthly and annual ACP-GV funding for assigned program fund control points with the assigned ACP-GV coordinator

Preforms other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: 7:30AM- 4:00PM, Monday-Friday
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for partial (1-2 days per week based on the needs of the department and facility). Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/31/2022.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Selective Placement Factor:
Clerk-Typist, Office Automation Clerk/Assistant and Positions with Parenthetical Titles of (Typing), (Office Automation)
In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of the following skills, as appropriate. Applicants may meet these requirements by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years. Agencies may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test.
  • Clerk-Typist, GS-2/4; Office Automation Clerk/ Assistant (any grade); (Typing) (any grade); and (Office Automation) (any grade):
40 words per minute typing speed

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
  • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: experience with timekeeping duties, schedules appointments for ID cards, HR requirements, and computer access, maintains budget, Develop, maintain and modify weekly lecture schedule (this includes room scheduling and cadaver lab scheduling), Maintain and ensure invoices are paid in a timely fashion, collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information, organizes computerized data sets, and retrieves computerized data. experience with different software such as: Dragon speak, Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Excel. Access, Word, and Power Point. Reviews correspondences to ensure correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and terminology used in the office; Arranges meetings, Maintains and revises the office filing system, receives and logs outgoing correspondence, etc.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and is performed by sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. The employee is required to obtain records from files, and carry files, manuals, and other light objects.
