Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.Duties and Responsibilities:A$ A cents € sA' . Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates A$ A cents € sA' . Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provides ongoing performance management, training and conducts timely formal performance appraisals for direct reports A$ A cents € sA' . Daily management of labor (ie expected live) and the coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectation A$ A cents € sA' . Providing leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy A$ A cents € sA' . Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results A$ A cents € sA' . Smile and maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, easy, flexible and friendly customer service all while creating a positive shopping experience for customers A$ A cents € sA' . Role model outstanding, friendly customer service and use skills and knowledge of department products to offer solutions that meet or exceed customers' expectations A$ A cents € sA' . Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment A$ A cents € sA' . Understand and use company tools such as; financial reports, average cost inventory system (ACIS), scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems A$ A cents € sA' . Perform duties that ensure department appearance, quality, variety, workplace safety, food safety and department sanitation are consistently maintained A$ A cents € sA' . Ensure Grocery Department schedules are written to provide extraordinary customer service at all times A$ A cents € sA' . Has a complete understanding of scheduling, sales, projections, wage percent, interviewing, hiring, training, company information, and all other items deemed necessary to manage the Grocery Department A$ A cents € sA' . Ensure that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines A$ A cents € sA' . Observe and correct all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents A$ A cents € sA' . Record and report all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures A$ A cents € sA' . Monitor shrink ensuring that inventory is accounted for; provide coaching for associates to recognize and prevent losses A$ A cents € sA' . Assist with the physical inventory of product on hand bi-annually A$ A cents € sA' . Ensure that all advertising and sales promotion materials and signage applicable to the Grocery Department are properly utilized A$ A cents € sA' . Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations A$ A cents € sA' . Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices A$ A cents € sA' . Maintain security standards A$ A cents € sA' . Successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet and Training Aid courses A$ A cents € sA' . Provide recognition of accomplishments and offers constructive counseling when necessary as it relates to achieving customer satisfaction and service while building store sales A$ A cents € sA' . Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications: A$ A cents € sA' . High school graduate or equivalent preferred A$ A cents € sA' . Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills A$ A cents € sA' . Good understanding of store operations preferred A$ A cents € sA' . Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job A$ A cents € sA' . Ability to use technical information to solve problems A$ A cents € sA' . Ability to lead and direct others A$ A cents € sA' . Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions A$ A cents € sA' . Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations A$ A cents € sA' .
