Patient Access Specialist - Patient Scheduling
Shenandoah Community Health in Winchester is seeking a Patient Access Specialist. Spanish speaking preferred but not required.Job Summary:The Patient Access Specialist serves a critical role in ensuring patient access to care for our Winchester clinic. The primary responsibility is to ensure proper answering and direction of all incoming calls for the clinic in a friendly and professional manner, and to manage urgent or emergency telephone situations efficiently. Employee will be involved with several aspects of the practice including patient contact, scheduling, clerical duties and business functions.Essential Functions & Examples of Duties: Answering incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner. Accurately scheduling patient appointments and managing provider schedules. Updating the EHR (Electronic Health Record) as needed and advised. Other duties as assigned.Requirements: Possess good listening and communication skills High school diploma or the equivalent Office skills including word processing, data entry, and basic recordkeeping principles Excellent time management and organizational skills Previous knowledge of healthcare systems is preferred. Possess the ability to handle a multi-line phone. Demonstrate a friendly, patient, and compassionate demeanor when dealing with people, even in difficult situations. Spanish speaking is a plus.
