Overview:The Credit and Collections department encompasses Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, Deduction/Dispute management, and Customer Compliance. By leveraging prior Collections leadership skills in a business to business wholesale environment this position will play a key role within the department.Understanding drivers of accounts receivable and the components that build a collections portfolio this role will lead and support the day to day functions of the Collections Team. Providing guidance in workflow prioritization this role will oversee the collections process and make determinations on the collectability of accounts. As well, this role will be able to assist with the research and resolution of complex account reconciliation needs and various projects/requests from the Finance management team as necessary. The candidate will be able to maneuver and analyze large amounts of data to assist in the monthly Close and AR reserve process working to help streamline and enhance existing reports. The Collections Manager will have familiarity with wholesale customer deductions and will be oversee the timely collection of invalid customer deductions.The ideal candidate will have a "can do"A' attitude that views challenges as an opportunity to learn and advance both themselves and the business. They will possess strong problem solving and analytical skills, must be able to identify priority tasks, multi-task in a high pace environment, and be self-motivated.Responsibilities:Monitor and review the work of the collections team to ensure efficiency within Global Accounting and Company Credit policy.Conduct regular mentoring one on one's with account review and monitoring to establish goals and development plans for staff to address any ongoing challenges.Provide weekly aging reports to the team highlighting focal areas for each team member to ensure timely resolution of aged receivables.Lead complex research and account reconciliation tasks with the team to validate aged AR against customer portals and customer payments.Manage the write off of non-compliance customer deductions validating accuracy of coding and validity of backup.Serve as the first tier of escalation for departmental and customer related issues.Interface with field and sales management to expedite the resolution of customer billing disputes.Interface with the distribution center to aid in the resolution of aged unprocessed customer returns.Approve terms of settlement, up to approved limit, involving delinquent accounts when situations deviate from established parameters.Work with department leadership to define and build departmental dashboards.Test data elements impacted by system upgrades and modifications to ensure data accuracy and business continuity.Assist in month end AR Reserve data aggregation, validation, and reportingAd hoc projects and duties as assigned.Qualifications:Solid understanding of the Order to Cash cycle in B2B wholesaleExceptional critical thinking skillsExcel, level intermediate to advancedStrong verbal/written communication skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailOverall understanding of business systems and processes including legal, credit, supply chain, distribution, logistics, and EDIMicrosoft D365 experience preferredB2B/Wholesale experience requiredEducation: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience requiredExperience: 3 to 5 years related experience required
