Pathways to Housing DC (Pathways DC) is based in Washington, DC and serves people in the District and Montgomery County, MD. We are an innovative and nationally recognized nonprofit committed to ending homelessness for individuals with complex health challenges. Pathways DC is one of the originators of the "Housing First"A' model to end homelessness, in which services are provided without conditions and pre-housing requirements such as curfews, mandated sobriety or compliance with medication. We believe housing is healthcare and that housing is a basic human right. Pathways provides an array of services including housing, street outreach, case management, drop-in services, and behavioral health support. Our model is based on client choice and the idea that the people we serve are the architects of their recovery! The Development and Communications Associate, a full-time position, will provide essential administrative support to the Pathways to Housing DC Development and Communications department and participate in all fundraising activities including donor and community relations, fundraising appeals, and special events.Successful candidates must be highly organized and detail-oriented individuals with strong verbal and written communication skills. The Development and Communications Associate is an essential position and supports the growing fundraising needs and opportunities of Pathways to Housing DC's $17+ million budget. The position reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement.Administrative Functions (40%):A$ A cents € sA' . Creating timely and accurate donor acknowledgement letters; managing data entry processes, including regular and ongoing maintenance and clean-up of the donor database (Bloomerang); performing data analysis to identify trends and manage dashboard integrity; reconciling donor financial records; generating targeted donor lists via data queries; reviewing and entering donor data, including gifts and constituent information; and other support as neededA$ A cents € sA' . Managing in kind donations, including solicitation of in kind donations, coordination of item delivery and distribution, and timely donor acknowledgement and stewardship.A$ A cents € sA' . Coordinating meaningful volunteer opportunities for community involvement and acting as a steward for volunteer stewardship and appreciation opportunitiesCommunications (40%):A$ A cents € sA' . Contributing to the design and implementation of an annual communications plan that leverages key messages and engages stakeholders.A$ A cents € sA' . Developing effective, creative and professional social media content and increasing Pathways to Housing DC's social media presence.A$ A cents € sA' . Managing website content and making necessary and regular updates.A$ A cents € sA' . Creating compelling newsletters (electronic and print) as well as other electronic and printed communications, including appeals.A$ A cents € sA' . Maintaining photo, video, and print archives.A$ A cents € sA' . Working with staff across the organization to collect stories for use in organization marketing, fundraising and communications activitiesA$ A cents € sA' . Creating and sharing messages of gratitude and impact with stakeholders and supporters.Events (20%):A$ A cents € sA' . Representing the organization at community events (virtual and in-person) to expand the organization's visibility and portfolio of supporters.A$ A cents € sA' . Coordinating events (tours, site visits, in-person and/or virtual annual fundraisers) including managing vendor relationships, development of promotional materials, onsite and virtual logistics and volunteer coordination.Ideal Skills and Qualifications:A$ A cents € sA' . Flexibility with work schedule. This position does require occasional evening and/or weekend work A hybrid work schedule is possible for in-person and remote schedules.Compensation: $46,000 annually
