About the Organization: Friends of Guest House () is a transitional program that supports women who are returning to the community after incarceration for non-violent offenses. Friends of Guest House provides a safe, caring, healing environment for women in recovery from trauma, addictions, challenged family systems, and mood disorders. We serve 30 women in our Residential Program and each woman is invited to participate in the program for 6 months and spend another 6-9 months in our Aftercare Program with stepped down case management support. The goal of the women in the program is to re-enter the community, reunite with their families, and address barriers to achieving their goals. Overall, women who re-enter the community without support have a recidivism rate of 70%. Women who complete the Residential to Aftercare Program continuum at Friends of Guest House have a recidivism rate of 15%. Come join a dedicated team and make a difference in a woman's life each and every hour.Position Description: The Marketing and Development Director is a results-driven professional focused on increasing brand awareness and financial resources for Friends of Guest House. Working in partnership with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Marketing and Development Director will establish Guest House's fundraising goals and methods to accomplish those goals. The Director is also responsible for helping to build and manage the organization's brand and all aspects of marketing communications in order to raise awareness of the organization. This full- time position reports to the Executive Director. Flexible hours are available.Position Responsibilities: Strategically plan, direct, and manage all aspects of fundraising, public relations and communications activities on behalf of Guest House including but not limited to the following:A' . Responsible for developing an annual comprehensive development plan, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, with targeted goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes, and timelines which will achieve budgeted goals in coordination with the overall planning and budgeting process.A' . Build relationships with government agencies, corporations, small businesses, foundations, and local community members to build brand awareness and diversify potential funding sources.A' . Know and understand the Guest House Board and find ways to enlist and motivate Board members to participate in fundraising activities; develop short-term and long- range plans for development. Provide the Board with monthly reports of activities; provide accurate projections and forecasts for the purpose of budgetary and financial reporting.A' . Identify, research, cultivate and solicit gift prospects in support of Guest House initiatives with the goal of increasing the number of donors and gift amounts; develop and maintain accurate and systematic files on donors and prospects; ensure a system for regular and meaningful recognition of donors; coordinate efforts with Guest House staff, volunteers, and Board.A' . Develop comprehensive marketing plan for informative, inspiring, timely and appropriately spaced communications with external constituencies (events, media relations, press releases, social media, annual report, newsletters, etc.); utilize communication plan to regulate constituency contact; coordinate messages with web designer; liaison with community-based organizations; oversee event planning and execution.A' . Maintain visibility in Alexandria, throughout Northern Virginia, and with key reentry stakeholders to ensure Guest House viewed as a thought leader.A' . Work in coordination with the volunteer coordinator to create volunteer structure to support Guest House development efforts; enlist and supervise activities of volunteers in support of Guest House initiatives; oversee volunteer appreciation program.A' . Demonstrate team behavior and be willing to promote a team-oriented environment.Position Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five years successful marketing, and sales or fundraising experience. Candidate must have excellent presentation skills and strong written and oral communication skills.Additional requirements: A' . Proven success in securing individual, corporate and grant funding.A' . Experience in consultative selling, including senior level executives, corporate relationsrepresentatives, and foundation grant program officers.A' . Understands general business, financial, and marketing principles required to effectively lead, manage, and align resources for performance, such as pipeline management and forecasting.A' . Proficient with computers and utilizing Microsoft Office software. Preferred Qualifications:Broad knowledge related to the issues facing ex-offenders including substance abuse, mental health, crisis intervention and community liaison is preferred.Licenses & Certifications: A' .
