Position SummaryThe Director will have responsibility for overall financial reporting, including revenue recognition for activities across the organization. The Director works closely with the senior management and Program Directors as they develop and manage budgets to support their programs. In the absence of the CFO, the Director will be responsible for managing the Department and represent the CFO as needed at the Finance Committee and/or the Board meetings.Essential ResponsibilitiesA' . Assists in developing and maintaining expenditure and revenue forecasts; monitors expenditure and revenue activity and prepares various reports related to budgetary issuesA' . Interprets financial data and recommends changes to that facilitate the organization's ability to efficiently and effectively advance its missionA' . Works in collaboration with the CFO on the annual budget development processA' . Oversees the monthly billing and collection of parent feesA' . Meets with Program Directors to discuss monthly financial performance and addresses questions regarding budget management activitiesA' . Serves as the primary fiscal contact for all federal, state, and local grant awardsA' . Manages preparation of interim and annual financial report of actual revenues and expenses for all federal, state and local awardsA' . Prepares and submits required documents for federal, state and local grants (eg, GABI for all federal budgets, and Forms SF424, SF425, SF428 and FFRs, Child and Adult Care Food Programs/USDA)A' . Ensures that the accounting software meets regulatory needs; tests conversion of fiscal system changes and ensures adequate documentation is retainedA' . Serves as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships related to facility operation and maintenanceA' . Makes bank deposits as a part of internal control proceduresKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredA' . Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration;A' . Past experience managing budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, reporting and audit activitiesA' . Intermediate proficiency with MS ExcelA' . Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost principles including GAAPA' . Excellent written, verbal communicationsA' . Excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsA' . Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environmentA' . Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skillsA' . Ability to perform work with minimum supervision and determine when to refer issues and/or problems to supervisorA' . Excellent judgement skills as demonstrated by using the utmost discretion in all presentations/correspondence and communication with staff and senior managementPreferred QualificationsA' . Master's Degree in Finance or Business Administration and prior nonprofit finance experienceA' . Expert proficiency level with MS ExcelA' .
