Washington, District of Columbia Job Description We are seeking associate candidates with 3-4 years of insurance recovery and complex business litigation experience. Resident in the firms Washington, DC, office, the ideal candidate will have a variety of experience representing corporate policyholders in insurance coverage disputes involving commercial property and business interruption, commercial general liability, professional liability, directors and officers liability and other coverages. The successful candidate will work in all phases of complex commercial insurance coverage litigation, as well as on reviewing policies and drafting coverage analyses, corresponding with insurance carriers, negotiating confidentiality agreements, and assisting with, preparing for and attending client meetings, settlement conferences, mediations, and arbitrations. It is required that the candidate have a bachelor's degree and a juris doctorate degree (JD) from an accredited law school. Excellent academic performance is highly valued. The candidate should be a member or eligible to become a member of the District of Columbia Bar. The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of ethics and conduct codes which are a requirement for the proper and legal practice of the law.
