The Choice Inc. is thrilled to be partnering with a nonpartisan womens organization whose mission is to encourage, equip, educate, and empower voting-age women to participate fully in Americas civic and political life. We are seeking a team leader and project manager to work with the CEO, board, and team to oversee the development and execution of organization strategy, operations, and programming. The Chief Operating Officer is a critical senior leadership to oversee staff and daily operations across all areas the organizations work. This is outstanding opportunity to take on a pivotal role in the evolution of a fast-growing, respected non-profit. The ideal candidate will have worked in politics and for a women's organization. The organization's office is located in New York City, but the COO can live elsewhere. The position can be remote. Responsibilities: Oversee daily operations of the company; provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence for all staff Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence and rigorous program evaluation; oversee all programs and initiatives as well as develop new curriculum, tools, and programs in line with the organization's mission Set comprehensive goals for organization and team performance/growth Design and implement high-impact business strategies, plans and procedures in line with goals and budget Build and demonstrate thought leadership, regarding womens political participation Represent the organization externally at national forums, workshops, and conferences (and in media as necessary) Develop agendas and presentations for key internal and external meetings (eg, board meetings, team strategy sessions, pitch decks, etc.) Assist CEO and team in fundraising ventures Role requirements: Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of leadership/ team management experience Strong understanding of non-profit operational excellence Excellent interpersonal, writing and public speaking skills Experience in womens organizations or political or civic leadership organizations Expert knowledge of gender or racial justice issues Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities Proficient with Macs (including Keynote) as well as Word and Excel Analytical but also capable of out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems Ability to travel up to 20% of the time once COVID safety is no longer an issue Passion for the mission and vision of organization Fundraising and grant-winning experience is a plus Based ideally in the DC or New York Metro area
