Seeking Activity Facilitators looking for part-time opportunities where they can engage in the community around them and make an impact in the lives of Fairfax County residents. Activity Facilitators plan, prepare, and lead community, teen and senior center activities that are age and ability appropriate. + They will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of in-person and virtual programming to offer enriching on-demand and live activities. + They work collaboratively to plan and organize activities/programs that focus on prevention and are based on community needs. + They implement programming techniques that serve a multi-cultural and economically diverse population. + They lead scheduled activities, encouraging full participation, enjoyment, and group involvement that meet the desired outcomes. + They assist in the marketing of programs and outreach to the community. * They provide leadership and ensure the safety of all center participants. + They interact positively, supportively, and reassuringly with the participants. + They act as a role model and mentor. + They are accountable for quality of programs provided to the community participants. + They will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of in-person and virtual programming to offer enriching on-demand and live activities. Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation or GED; plus experience working with youth, adults and/or families. Must be 18 years of age. Individuals hired for positions working with teens must be at least 21 years of age. CERTIFICATES AND LICENSURES REQUIRED: + A valid driver's license and eligibility to drive participants is required at the time of hire. + Must pass the NCS mandatory vehicle training course. + CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (Required within 3 months) NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background, Child Protective Services Registry, driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer. All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process.
