Overview : Our client is one of the leading utility companies in the Washington, DC Metro area, and is looking for an experienced Communications Specialist. In this role, you will help steer external communications, to include social media content creation, website infographics and blogs, and email campaign distribution. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated team player with a CAN-DO attitude! The position is open for REMOTE candidates, but preference is given to those in the Mid-Atlantic area. It is a 30 hours per week role, with great flexibility in the hours you work.Our client is unable to offer sponsorship. Responsibilities : Customize messaging and editorial content to different audiences and platformsLead social media content creationBrainstorm content ideas in line with the companys strategy and in support of various brand initiativesResearch and write content for the company website, infographics, blogs, and newslettersAdministrator email campaign distribution utilizing various email platformsMaintain a consistent look and feel throughout web propertiesMonitor and reports on communications-related analytics, including media mentions of the companyImplement metrics reports to measure effectiveness of various communication channels and measure external communications with the goal of continuously improving external communications strategy. Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years in corporate communications and public or media relationsStrong technical background and experience with content management systems, web design, social media platforms, analytics tools, and other new media technologiesExcellent written and oral communications skillsDemonstrated project management skillsExperience in writing and editing marketing contentProven ability to use desktop publishing software, creative suite software (such as Photoshop or Illustrator), and Microsoft Office 365 applicationsPortfolio of work demonstrating the ability to tell complex stories in relatable terms : 4 Reasons to Join The Squires Group, Inc.: 1.
