We are the hosts who greet visitors, the creators of programs and promotions and managers of our beautiful parks.Organization MissionThe Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, in collaboration with our government, business, and community partners creates a clean, green, safe, sustainable and thriving urban Waterfront for all to enjoy.General ResponsibilitiesWaterfront Partnership's Director of Marketing Communications is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and measuring the impact of the Organization's marketing and communication strategies, including those carried out via social media, branding, promotions, public relations; and establishing partnerships with area stakeholders.Communications are aimed at conveying Waterfront's appeal and its unique offerings as a destination for visitation, particularly for local residents; and the Waterfront Partnership's positive impact on the Waterfront. The position is responsible for identifying and carrying out new and novel ways to convey and highlight the Partnership's brand and ensures that our brand is carried through in all communications, electronics, and print materials.Primary RelationshipsThis position reports to the President and serves as a member of the senior management team. The Director of Marketing Communications supervises the Marketing Manager and works closely with the Partnership's events and programming team. The position manages the relationship with and oversees the Public Relations firm Waterfront Partnership contracts with as well as graphic design firms on an as-needed basis to prepare outside design work. The Director works closely with the Events and Programming Team has a primary working relationship with the President, senior management team, Board Members, and area retailers, restaurateurs and attractions.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesMarketing Communications:The Director is responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of the Partnership's marketing communications program including public relations and social media that will enhance the Organization's and the Waterfront's image and position within the marketplace and with the general public.Community Collaborations and Partnerships, Events and Sponsorship:Baltimore's Waterfront includes many stakeholders ranging from property owners, retail and restaurant owners, land and water-based attractions, area users, government partners and companies interested in obtaining exposure with Waterfront users. The Marketing Director organizes and chairs the "Harbor Happenings" committee comprised of retailers and attractions, hotels that share their information and build relationships with like interests around the Harbor. An important way to add value and expand our marketing efforts is to establish close working relationships with area stakeholders.Preparation of MaterialsThe Marketing Director is responsible for preparing, overseeing and managing the Waterfront Partnership's website/s, providing new content (blogs, event listings, photos etc.) preparation and distribution of the Partnership's monthly email newsletter highlighting events by the Partnership and its stakeholders, annual reports and other materials as necessary.Planning, Budgeting, and Organizational StrategyPosition is responsible for developing short- and long-term goals, plans and budgets for the department and its activities; track and monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance. Work with senior staff to maintain a strategic perspective.QualificationsBachelor's degree plus a minimum of five years of proven and direct experience in communications and marketingStrong creative, strategic, and analytical skillsStrong interpersonal skills, must be effective communicator orally and in writingDemonstrated experience in managing the design and production of electronic and print materials and publicationsExperience in creative use of social media platformsRecord of working successfully through partnerships and alliances with stakeholdersHands on graphic design experience desirableComputer literacy in Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Creative Suite and WordPressSalary and BenefitsSalary commensurate with qualifications.Benefits include generous PTO, 401(k) plan with employer match, employer partially funded health insurance, employer paid life insurance, long-term disability and short-term disability, flextime, and the ability to work a percentage of time remotely until the current public health crisis abates.To apply: Please send a cover letter, resume, and salary requirement to jobs at WaterfrontPartnership.org.
