Minimum Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
    • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree , a High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of work experience in the vertical transportation field will be considered (in addition to the minimum experience required below)

Experience
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the vertical transportation field which includes design, manufacture, assembly, and/or maintenance of equipment (escalators and elevators).
  • Familiar with A17 Safety Code for vertical transportation.
  • Project/construction management background in all aspects of procuring and installing vertical transportation equipment, including scheduling, supervising and executing contracts.

Certification/Licensure
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued from the jurisdiction of residence is required.

Job Summary

Elevator/Escalator (ELES) CIP Engineer is responsible for the engineering, administration and management of the Authority's vertical transportation projects and functions necessary to successfully bid, award, manage and close out vertical transportation contracts issued by the Authority.

Essential Functions
  • Reviews and processes all contractual documentation for vertical transportation projects and facilitates the proper management, processing and storage of the information/documents generated by the contractor and the Authority during the execution of the contract.
  • Coordinates the receipt of and reviews contractor-submitted shop drawings, catalog cuts, hoisting plans, traffic control plans, requests for information, maintenance manuals, operation manuals, samples and permits prior to forwarding to other internal stakeholders.
  • Reviews and evaluates contractor pay applications and ensures their accuracy.
  • Maintains oversight of contractor work progress in the field to ensure contract construction requirements are met.
  • Coordinates inter-departmental stakeholders to address worksite conflicts with existing facilities and contract requirements.
  • Prepares cost estimates for proposed changes in contract scope.
  • Maintains contract budget expenditures and projections.
  • Participates in project schedule development and substantial completion inspections for contracts.

Other Functions
  • Operates Authority vehicle between work locations to perform job duties as required .
