Our client, a growing and international retailer is looking for someone to take on a hands-on, detail-oriented operational compliance role. This individual will help build on safety and compliance standards across our locations. This is a rare chance to be part of a team in a company with a strong proof of concept and a massive market opportunity early in its life cycle. The Health and Safety BE SAFE Administrator will provide support to the core business, and will ultimately have an enormous impact on the success of the company.



What you'll do - The Safety Administrative Assistant will be responsible for handling all administrative tasks for the Health, Safety and Environmental Department. The Safety Administrative Assistant will report to the Occupational Safety Specialist for HSE. This role will report to the headquarters located in Arlington, VA and will be eligible to work from home several days a week. This role requires two on call weekend shifts per month and a M-F 7am-4pm schedule.

• Assist with administrative duties, as required / requested.

• Intermediate to advanced skills in computer-based technology

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite of products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and outlook

• Data Entry and data tracking

• Print / copy / as needed

• Compile, maintain and manage internal safety department electronic files. Includes: Emergency Action Plans, weekly and monthly topics, meeting notes and other files created by regional or HQ safety personnel. Store and maintain these documents on internal server.

• Participate in Safety Committee meetings.

• Other duties as assigned by the HSE Department.

• Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other professional and ethical conduct standards.

• Good Communication Skills

• Coordinate multiple schedules

• This is a minimum 40 hour per week job with overtime, or weekend on-call work as required



What you'll need -

• Job experience in a similar role or office setting.

• Must have strong analytical skill set

• Must be comfortable with direct written and oral communication with internal and external leadership

• Ability to input, track and obtain information from various sources and compose reports

• Strong written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail, is self-directed and has the ability to think logically.

• Must be able to interface with, and provide general project support to, operations and safety

• professionals.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• PowerPoint presentation skills

• This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time

• The person in this position may need to move about the corporate office(s) less than half the time

• The person in this role must be able to position him/herself (ex: kneel, crawl, crouch down) to fulfill the essential functions of the role less than half the time

• The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 50 lbs.

• This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

• This position is exposed to hazard/chemical materials | outdoor weather conditions | non-climate-controlled workspace(s) less than half the time

• The person in this position must be able to identify and distinguish between colors all of the time
