Duties

As a Process Improvement Specialist at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Conducts a broad range of customer and program analyses of data for internal and external use to determine customer impact to include developing business case analyses (BCAs), capabilities-based assessments (CBAs), performance improvement, gap analyses, recommendations, reports, organizational position papers, and related documents.
  • Leads the development and delivery of business analytical tools to maximize asset utilization and reduce waste.
  • Deploys Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), Design Thinking and Kaizen programs and initiatives, and participates in directing matrixed teams to achieve desired results using these continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Develops business and program performance measures using the Logic Model methodologies and applicable OMB guidelines and circulars.
  • Manages or assists in the implementation of organizational changes, structural realignments, and other management reforms

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification.


Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Conducting program analyses for internal and external use to determine customer impact as it relates to risk management and internal control, developing business case analyses, performance improvement, and related documents to report the development and delivery of business analytical tools to maximize asset utilization and reduce waste.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
