Duties

  • You will formulate written responses to provide information on equipment.
  • You will collaborate with the command and external activities on matters pertaining to policies and procedures in support of configuration management and technical logistics
  • You will present oral reports, briefings, and recommendations to senior leadership concerning equipment issues, problems, and training requirements.
  • You will determine equipment deficiencies to make recommendations of improvements or solutions.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying and solving problems related to training equipment systems; 2) Developing project documentation to include statements of work, systems, equipment, budgets and procurement documents; 3) Forecasting project needs for training requirements; and 4) Tracking all shipments and ensuring material procurement is timely. Physical Demands- Must have dexterous use of arms and legs to do considerable walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, and lifting of up to 40 pounds is required. Climbing significant heights to inspect all components of lifting and personnel handling equipment (i.e. pole/auger trucks, cable handler trucks, ammunition trucks, bucket trucks, scissors lifts, and manlifts) is required.

Working Environment- Approximately 65% of the work is performed in various unconditioned industrial settings, including maintenance shops, waterfront areas, hangars, warehouses, and other Navy owned facilities. Must inspect various components of NAVFAC P-300 equipment and WHE in hazardous or uncomfortable areas including barge voids, machinery rooms, crane booms, and elevated bridge cranes. Must take special safety precautions including wearing of proper PPE, protective clothing, and safety harness when required. The remainder of the work is performed in an office setting.
