The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is seeking a full-time Development Associate to join its development department. The Associate provides vital support primarily to the development department's growing individual giving program. This is a pivotal position in which the Associate collaborates with all members of the development team and serves as the primary liaison with EPI's communications and policy departments. This position is supervised by the Director of Development. The Development Associate will be tasked with prospect research and updating donor wealth and philanthropy profiles; recording and timely acknowledgement of individual gifts and other contributions, including gifts given by check, credit card, wire, and stock; and managing individual donor records, and foundation and union data in the development database. The Associate will be expected to develop a working familiarity with key EPI donors, their gift amounts, and the relationships EPI donors have with staff, Board members, other EPI individual donors, and the larger philanthropic community. Responsibilities also include generating gift and donor reports from the customer relationship management (CRM) database (currently using Raiser's Edge NXT) and providing analyses of EPI donor giving trends and responses to donor communications, such as emails and event invitations. The Associate will be the lead staff on the CRM database for individual donor records and will collaborate with team members to lead system improvements. On the foundation grants side, the Associate will create and update research profiles on current and prospective foundation funders, assist with database-related foundation grants management, and assist in drafting and editing foundation reports on a as needed basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Development on general department operations, including preparing fundraising reports for EPI's leadership and developing strategies to increase donor support for EPI programs and activities. Job Requirements: . Process all donations, including drafting acknowledgment letters, inputting new donor and prospect information, and developing donor reports. . Coordinate with finance and other departments to track donor contributions from wired funds, checks, and on-line appeals. . Generate complete and accurate donor lists in gift amount categories. . Conduct research on current and prospective foundation and individual funders, their funding priorities and grant recipients, their boards of directors, and prepare written profiles. . Assist in preparing regular fundraising status reports, track deadlines and deliverables and assist with other reports as needed. . Execute fundraising appeals and stewardship campaigns and assist in planning and executing logistics for special events. . Assist with preparation of materials for board meetings, donor visits, and other donor outreach and stewardship activities. . Assist the Director of Development in identifying tools and resources to support development activities. . Assist in planning department meetings and staff development activities. . Other duties as assigned by the Director of Development. .
