This Collections Specialist role will be based in the Arlington, Virginia region and will be a short-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity. Nourish your career as an experienced Collections Specialist at a growing company when you contact Robert Half today!Your responsibilities in this role- Handle inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence- Comply with all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act- Register all customer payments to the correct reports- Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, eg skip-tracing, written correspondence, phone contact, and making arrangements for payment- Ensure payments are processed- Correctly process bankruptcy filings when received- Head all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines- Oversee and update customer files to ensure data consistency- Act as liaison in maintaining quality service to the customer and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries Requirements - AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred- Comprehensive knowledge of Aging Reports- Consumer collections experience- Command of Aging Reports- Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)- Deep understanding of Collection Processes- Foundational knowledge in Billing Collection- Adeptness in Debt Collection- Be able to effectively analyze and make decisions on customer accounts- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company- 2-3 years of prior high volume collections experience- Prior experience working with accounting software Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
