Description As a global staffing firm headquartered in Northern Virginia, our clients are currently seeking a strategic and process-oriented Accounting Operations Manager to join their corporate team as the latest member to leadership. The Financial Operations Controller we seek will be joining the leadership team in a newly created position as result of intensive rapid growth through 2020/2021. As a Accounting and Financial Operations Controller, we need an accounting operations manager or director who can comfortably transition into a newly created role under the current Accounting Controller and and establish or update systems and processes handling the increased workload for their operational financial activities. The operational financial activities are currently handled by the Accounting Controller, who will assist in the transition and train the new Financial Operations Controller to take over internal systems and processes related to AR, Billing, Timesheet reviews, AP and other related tasks as needed. The ideal Financial Operations Controller we seek must also possess soft skills such as strong written and verbal communications, previously demonstrated management and leadership qualities, and ability to work independently (self-starter types). As a new seat to the leadership team, we need an Accounting Operations professional who is adaptable and able to provide guidance to C-level management and executives directionality and analysis of systems/processes in relation to growth and scalability of corporation. Primary responsibilities will include:1. Management responsibilities for remote operational financial staff located in India, particularly as point of escalation for operational accounting complexities identified.2. Review new client contracts, procedures and requirements and ensure the teams are setup properly to handle them.3. Manage the time card retrieval process (manual and automation program) to ensure time is captured quickly. Coordinate with payroll dept, as necessary, to resolve issues.4. Manage AP process - Expense reports, subcontractor invoices and vendor invoices, weekly payments, and manage subcontractor payments.5. Manage AR process - Timely invoicing and resolution of any issues surrounding invoices, monitor receivables for past due amounts and escalate and/or collaborate with account managers as necessary. Ensure all payments are applied in a timely manner. Monitor discounts and make sure that those are handled appropriately. Oversee the collections process and engage with outside collection agencies and/or attorneys to assist in elevated collection efforts.6. Final escalation points for all issues arising from normal financial business operations (timesheets, invoicing, AR, AP and payroll interface). Resolve issues and identify ways to adjust processes to prevent them in the future.7. Handle incoming communications from various outside departments. 8.
