We currently have an exciting Permanent (Direct Hire) opportunity for a Remote Microsoft Systems Engineer to provide technical oversight support as a Microsoft Systems Engineer for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Operations and Engineering Division (OED)Job Description: Provide technical oversight support as a Microsoft Systems Engineer for TSA OED Provide IT management and engineering consulting support for all areas of Microsoft related technologies (eg, Microsoft Server, Azure, M365, Exchange, Active Directory, SharePoint, and System Center) Provide technical oversight for Compliance Support, Technical Operations Management and Administrative Support, and IT Technical Operations Quality Assurance Support Provide Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) support during various phases of the SELC process including Solution engineering, Planning, Requirements Review, Design, Development, Integration, Testing, Implementation, and Operation and Maintenance Provide oversight for reviews of technical requirements documentation Provide system engineering support of program efforts to ensure actual infrastructure configurations aligns with designed baselined configurations Review, analyze, measure, track, and evaluate weekly progress against the technical initiative and project plans Evaluate current IT system processes, including monitoring faults, performance, and capacity, and collaborate with IT Operations Leadership on continuous process and quality improvement Lead and participate in research, architecture, and design of complex computer network systems, to include customized applications, including assets, tools, configurations, and investments Research, develop, update, and maintain program documentation, including the preparation of remediation reports and technical requirements Support development of process flows, templates, and use of industry Best Practices Provide support of contractual deliverables, including Weekly Status Reports, Monthly Status Reports, Quarterly Status Reports and Assessment Reports Attend meetings with Government personnel and provide recommendations, as needed Evaluate and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that include timely communication, documentation, and accurate record-keeping as determined by the GovernmentRequirements: 7+ years demonstrated knowledge and experience using TSA, DHS, or Federal systems Must have a Microsoft Systems Engineering background, this is not a Microsoft Administrator position. Must have a Systems Engineering background Strong information technology acumen Ability to effectively and efficiently work on simultaneous projects Ability to quickly recognize and prioritize competing tasks Ability to establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with stakeholders at various organizational levels to support Strong critical thinking, analytical and research skills Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, and good communication skills (verbal and writing) Detail and process-oriented Experience working in a government contracting environment Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Public Trust Clearance Occasional travel to TSA in Springfield, VAPreferred: Azure experience is a highly preferredEducation: BA/BS degree is requiredNote: Must be US Citizen - "Must be able to meet ITAR requirements, including US citizenship to be considered for this role."
