Title:Communications/Ground Station EngineerKBR is seeking a Communications/Ground Station Engineer to support the MQ-4C Triton Fleet Support Team, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), Jacksonville, FL. This position will be physically located at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Provides engineering support for the development of Integrated Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) for the Integrated Functional Capability 4 (IFC 4) for the MQ-4C Triton UAS.Serves as an IFC 4 Avionics/Electronics Engineer to Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Manager Air (PMA) Offices and Fleet Support Team (FST).Responsible for the review and development of IFC 4 technical documentation for implementation into the IFC 4 release of the MQ-4C Triton IETM for the Unmanned Air System (Unmanned Air Vehicle and Ground Station). Reviews IFC 4 technical documentation to include specifications, drawings, CATIA models, wiring diagrams, schematics, FMECAs, support equipment documentation, IFC 3 IETM, fault codes and troubleshooting procedures. Responsibilities will include the development of IFC 4 IETM maintenance procedures and the validation and verification IETM Data Modules (DM) for inclusion in the IFC 4 IETM.Technical knowledge must be sufficient to independently work and support a program involving the development and review of:Hardware and installations on the Unmanned Aircraft and Control StationsMaintenance plans as part of IETM procedure developmentMaintenance procedures for incorporation into Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)Recommending the enhancement, change, or development of new services, procedures, and processes to increase program effectiveness.Basic Qualifications:Must have an Engineering Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering plus at least 7 years of experience.Must have at least 7 years of recent experience in aviation engineering.Must have an active DOD security clearance and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified material.Technical knowledge of aircraft avionic sensor systems and aircraft communication systems is required.Must be able to prepare draft analysis documents and other material for internal review by subject matter experts and final review by customer.Must be able to work independently, be team oriented, and possess strong customer facing skills. Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new information and programs.Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.Allowable Substitution: Masters' Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 1 year of engineering-related experience ORHigh School Diploma and 17 years' engineering experience in an aviation electronics field; Science related Associates Degree plus 14 years' experience in aviation-related engineeringContract requirements will prevail. Key Skills Required: The incumbent must display skill in applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices and understanding of aircraft communication/ground Station systems to include:Airborne and ground networks - Navy ADNS operational networkUHF/VHF IP based communications systemsUAS satellite command and controlINMARSATHAIPE encryptorsAircraft voice communicationsTactical radiosICSLink 16Unmanned air vehicle ground station design and operationAssociated antennasMust be able to work flexible work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. Must be able to work in an environment with regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts associated with work in a large aircraft hangar, such as:Desired Skills and ExperienceExperience/familiarity with the MQ-4C Triton Program is a plus.Unmanned air vehicle ground stations experience/familiarity is desired.
