Title: Internal Auditor ( Accounting/Finance )Location: Falls Church, VADuration: 5 Months ContractPay Rate: $40 to $41/hr W2Shift: 40hr/week Job Description: Definition Performs a variety of audit procedures including analyses, appraisals, and evaluations of the school division's functions and activities, either individually or as part of a team; performs related duties as required or assigned.Typical Tasks (illustrative only) Performs routine audits of the school division's functions and activitiesMonitors regulations and ensures audit programs are current and up to date; responds to requests from schools related to inquires about auditsAssists with all aspects of an audit including planning, fieldwork, report writing, and presentation of audit resultsEvaluates internal controls over the division's assets and finances; ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and procedures; reviews operating practices to promote efficiency and effectiveness in the use of the division's assets and financesDemonstrates knowledge of and adherence to established audit standards; reviews school division procedures and records to provide independent and objective assessments of compliance with intended objectives: Performs follow-up review of actions taken to implement audit recommendations; and assists with the audit intern program.Supervision Received/Given Receives general supervision from a higher level auditor.May supervise lower-graded employees, as assigned.Education:Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, with major course work in accounting or finance, plus five years of progressively more responsible professional experience in auditing or accounting.Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $40.00 - $41.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:Auditing - Internal Auditor: 3 years (Preferred)Accounting/Finance: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
