Kapili Government Solutions, LLC is looking for a qualified Junior Systems Administrator to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) at Ft. Belvoir, VA.The Systems Administrator shall demonstrate the following abilities/experience:Provide Standard Procurement System (SPS) Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) support and administration:Maintaining the Sybase database and the SPS system by conducting the tasks required for Sybase DataBase Administration (DBA), and for maintaining the PD2 System Administration moduleConducting backups on a regular basisTroubleshooting SPS Help Desk issues: Call in and follow-up on help desk issues within the scope of the SPS Help Desk agreementConducting software service and maintenance release upgrades, including clause downloadsProviding relevant and customized Ad Hoc and Impromptu Reports to end users by their requested dateIdentifying any trends or suggestions in improving reportingUtilization of Citrix to improve performance/resolve disconnect issues as applicableDeveloping an Action Plan for handling all non-routine events, such as hardware/software upgrades and other configuration changesProviding timely/pro-active assistance to PD2 users on problems encountered during daily operation, either via Help Desk e-mail replies and/or desk-side one-on-one assistancePerforming the non-security, general contract support, and template tasks required to support PD2 system configuration activitiesPerforming system operations tasks that establish and maintain items and tasks that indirectly support the userTesting database backups to ensure they are functionalMaintaining a calendar of backup activities related to regular maintenanceTest the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) at least twice a yearProviding timely, adequate, and routine SPS/PD2 training workshops to provide guidance and assistance to user community in understanding the site's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Daily tasks include : back up the databases, manage interface logs, Check EDA log and EDA failures, Check EDA webpage, provide EDA/EDI supportWeekly tasks include : perform a full database consistency check, check database free space, check error logs, submit a Status Report via e-mail to the site's CORMonthly tasks include : test backups, run update statistics script, check free disk space, perform virus checks, perform disk scans, monitor server performance, and check operation system logsRequired Skills and Experience:One to three years of experience providing user support for complex technical and functional issuesExperienced with the SPS software suite, or a similar application suiteExperience with government contracting or supporting acquisition systemsWork independently and within a teamMastery in oral and written communications while interacting with customers internal or external to the organizationWork successfully with concurrent deadlines, and prioritizing and managing multiple tasksExperience providing customer service or help desk supportExperience providing functional and technical customer service or help support with business software solutions or IT systemsExpertise in a specific, relevant functional or technical area, such as government contracting, integration methodologies and tools (eg, webMethods), etc.Researching, recreating, and troubleshooting issuesFormulating resolutions and working with customers to implementWorking with team members to identify issue trends and strategies to mitigatePreparing reports and monitoring metricsConducting quality assurance on issue resolutionsDegree/Education/Certification Requirements:Must be able to obtain and maintain at least one (1) IAT II baseline and Computing Environment Certification:IAT II: Security+; SSCP; or CCNA-SecurityDesired Experience:Preferred: Computing Environment: MC 2012 Server Admin; MTA; MCSA 2012; MCSE 2012; MCP; or MCTS: Windows and Configuration and Desktop SupportCitizenship/Clearance Requirements:Must be a US CitizenThis position requires a Secret Security Clearance in placeKapili Government Services, LLC is a fast growing government service provider.
