We are seeking a passionate and talented candidate to join our accounting team.Position Overview:The Senior Accountant role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who possesses a high level of precision, reliability, and attention to detail. This position is responsible for day to day Accounting functions. This includes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis. The position requires close coordination and collaboration with Accounting, Property Management, and Operations and the ability to step in as appropriate, to support in acquisition, debt and other financial analysis. This role reports directly to the Accounting Manager. The Senior Accountant's key areas of responsibility are fiscal management, compliance, and risk management.Responsibilities:Reporting: responsible for all financial and compliance reporting for assigned properties; maintain the property reporting schedule; balance sheet analysis, asset management, and property management reporting; complete cash flow analysis as needed; completes various ad hoc reports.Financial: execute property management accounting functions and budgeting; prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations; ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures; execute accounts payable, cash management, and debt service payment functions; ensure bills are paid in a timely manner and Invoice/GL coding approvals; assist with preparing tax returns and preparation of annual budgets; prepare ownership level journal entries based on property management information; record and maintain fixed asset purchases and applicable depreciation and amortization schedules.Operations: carry out accounting compliance, such as audit preparation; ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed; assist with special projects as necessary for CRC Companies and CRC Property Management; analyze contracts to apply appropriate accounting methods and record appropriate expenses on a monthly basis; ensure GAAP are being adhered to appropriately; assist with external financial audits; assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls and due diligence on potential new projects; review operating agreements and management agreements to ensure on-going compliance.In addition to the above, the Senior Accountant will be expected to execute other duties as assigned to ensure adequate property management operations are maintained.Experience & Qualifications:CRC Property Management seeks highly motivated team players who can learn quickly and grow with the organization. Throughout the hiring process, we look for candidates that demonstrate the following qualities: proven quantitative and analytical skills; Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Residential real estate accounting experience is preferred. CPA certification is preferred. Ability to read and interpret rental agreements, government regulations, and budgets. Ability to write effective business correspondence. Must be detail-oriented and well-organized. Self-starter who can work with minimal daily direction from the direct supervisor. Proven time and project management skills. proficiency in Google and Microsoft productivity suites; strong interpersonal and leadership qualities; excellent written and oral communication skills.
