**Description:**To perform rough carpentry or structural work, finish carpentry and painting on many projects which occur on a day-to-day basis. Also has apositive budget impact on repair costs due to the decreased need for outside contractors. Maintain like new finishes throughout the facility._SHIFT: M-F 7am-3:30_**Qualifications and Experience:**Experience in laying out work from plans or verbal instructions is a must.Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience required.High school diploma or equivalent; license preferred.Minimum five years experience in the carpentry and painting trade.Preferably in the commercial industry.Able to read complex blue prints and make computations relating to dimensions of work.Experience skill level with a variety of carpentry tools, portable power equipment and large machinery such as saws, drills, presses, lathes andsanders._Physical Requirements:_Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.Ability to stand and walk for many hours.Must be able to hear normal sounds and with some background noise.**Additional Skills & Qualifications:**+ Applies, removes, mixes and matches paint.+ Paint application is done with adequate warning or caution signs in area of work.+ Paint application is done with adequate protection to surrounding areas.+ Mixing and matching paint colors are verified before actual application.+ Work area where any painting or removal of old paint is maintained and thoroughly cleaned at the end of each day.+ Maintains a constant awareness of any fumes or airborne particles which may be created by the application or removal of paint.+ Operates equipment to complete work with a variety of carpentry tools, power tools and hand tools, including brushes, rollers, sponges, saws,+ drill presses and sanders.+ Operation of all equipment is done safely.+ Maintains tools to prolong their shelf-life and maintain the highest integrity of safety.+ Reports any malfunctions of power tools, or makes necessary repairs to frayed cords or damaged plugs.+ Plans and lays out work from drawings, blueprints or verbal instructions.+ Work is laid out according to specified measurements and in a pre-determined timeframe.+ Planning and layout is done without interfering with other facility operations.+ Repairs, maintains and constructs walls, and woodwork for equipment.+ All repairs are completed in a pre-determined timeframe.+ All finishes are smooth and present like new appearances.+ All construction type items are built to carry required loads.+ Each work area is cleaned at the end of each day.+ 5.
