Program members will learn all sides of the banking business then be placed in a position in the offices of Burke & Herbert Bank.The Burke & Herbert Bank Professional Development program supports our strategic objectives by identifying and preparing a pipeline of aspiring next-generation banking leaders to fill essential roles throughout the Bank. Over two years, program participants will receive the training, mentoring, and exposure required to cultivate successful Burke & Herbert Bank careers. Through a series of structured Department Rotations, program participants will gain a global perspective of the Bank, focusing on Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Commercial Lending, Credit, Wealth Services, and Bank Operations. In addition to the Department Rotations, participants will receive professional development training and take part in personality and leadership assessments. After satisfying the program requirements, participants can apply for open bank positions and are eligible for sponsorship in the Virginia Banker Association School of Bank Management program.Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Complete all assigned tasks and assisting with day-to-day operations.Participate in meetings, workshops, and other learning opportunities.Observe and learn from experienced staff members.Gain knowledge of company policies, protocols, and processes.Take detailed notes and liaising with Managers, Supervisors, and other senior staff.Fulfill any requirements and meeting goals set out at the start of the traineeship.Education and Experience College graduates with a four-year degree or above in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.Financial industry professionals with a four-year degree or above and up to five years of work experience.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated leadership skills.A positive attitude and willingness to learn.Excellent time management skills.Proficiency in MS Office.Supervisory Responsibility: This is a non- supervisory role Travel Travel may be required for this position.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
