Summary Description: The Senior Director of Marketing will develop and guide the strategy for marketing initiatives for Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), including research, email and digital marketing, event marketing, paid media and advertising, fundraising/stewardship, and program area marketing. The position will have primary responsibility for the website and associated search strategies to broadly convey the appropriate brand voice for CCUSA and drive applicable audiences to the site. The position will lead the project management function for the Communications and Marketing team, interfacing with a number of internal program area leads, including those in Disaster Relief, Development, Affordable Housing, and event planning, among others. The position reports to CCUSA's Chief Communications and Marketing Officer.Leadership Exercised: Lead digital strategy, especially related to brand awareness and fundraisingDirect complex marketing programs to ensure they are on-message, on-time and effectiveLead Communications and Marketing team members in the execution of the creative product of the department, directing them strategically as well as anticipating opportunities and challenges associated with initiativesPrimary Responsibilities: Manages research and media buying related to brand awareness efforts of CCUSA and the CC network of agenciesHas a command of fundraising principles for annual giving efforts and driving stewardship efforts with existing donors Leads website strategy and content approach and ensures a consistent, quality engagement over time, including any external web development partnersDirects the engagement strategy for the member agency intranet, including tracking and measuring the performance of the intranet in sharing best practices and informing our member agenciesCo-leads a communications and marketing practice group with member agency Marcom professionalsEngages regularly with program area leads to prioritize needs and gathers information critical to creative requests Grow subscribers and contactable lists of interested parties for engagement and fundraising Leads the assessment and lessons learned from metrics related to media buys, website traffic, etc. Plays a pivotal role in keeping projects moving internally and managing program area expectations Moves the Communications and Marketing team members toward completion of project deliverables and supports the team in various administrative activities by building project schedules, forecasting hours for projects, coordinating with different teams to ensure that projects start and finish on time and that all stakeholders have reviewed and approved them in a timely manner, and enforce process during projects Writes clear, concise, and grammatically correct copy and contributes creatively to copy needs and the writing of strategic documents and plans Demonstrates a proficiency with project management tools to set deadlines, track resources, and ensure team member accountabilityKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Digitally mindedOrganized and flexible; ability to work seamlessly within all levels of the CCUSA organization, as well as with external partners Ability to think through complex, sequenced tasksExperience working within a content management system Mentor to Communications and Marketing staff to enable them to produce their best creative product Accountability for communicating internal plans and methodologies Excellent writing, oral communications, and critical thinking skills Appreciation for innovative, creative approaches Strong interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable-driven workplace Professional demeanor and a dedicated work ethic Working knowledge and appreciation of Catholic faith and social doctrineEducation & Experience: BS/BA (or equivalent experience) in communications, marketing, journalism, or related fieldExperience working for a nonprofit or Catholic organization (preferred) A minimum of five to ten years of professional experience with a demonstrated excellence in marketing strategy, innovation, and project managementJob Type: Full-timePay: From $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:CCUSA is a fully vaccinated work environmentAbility to commute/relocate:Alexandria, VA 22314: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience:Marketing: 5 years (Required)Work Location: One location
